David Allen Timms, 69, of Dickerson Run, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his residence. David was born Jan.11, 1953, in Connellsville, a son of the late Nelson Frederick and Twila Darlene (Jolly) Timms. He married Bonnie K. (McBurney) Timms on Nov. 6, 1971.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1971 and was employed as a coal miner for 39 years with the United Coal Mine in Eighty-Four, Pa., retiring in 1999. David enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, attending quad races, and relaxing at his cabin in McKean County. He also was fond of his dogs, Harley and Lilly.

David will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 50 years, Bonnie K. (McBurney) Timms; his son, David Timms; his three grandchildren, Cody Timms, Kayla Marsh (Jared Zerkle), and Chance Marsh (Tabitha Johnston); his three great-grandchildren, Parker Jacobs, Chandler Marsh, and Wade Zerkle; his siblings, Donald Timms and wife Judy of Vanderbilt, Dale Timms and wife Karen of Banning, Darlene Phel and husband Tim of Vanderbilt, and Delbert Timms and wife Debbie of Connellsville; numerous nieces and nephews; his sisters-in-law, Patricia McBurney and Connie Smith; and his special niece, Deb Colbert and husband Dave. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Timms; his grandson, Ryan Timms; and his two brothers, Daniel Timms and Ronald Jolly.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH E. GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD ST. , DAWSON ( www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Greg Pelc officiating.
