Dale A. Bowers Jr., 38, of Dawson, Perry Township, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. Dale was born June 8, 1978, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Dale A. Bowers and wife, Rebecca, and Karen Keefer Bowers and the late John Fesh. He married the former Kristina L. Smitley Oct. 2, 2007. Dale was a devoted husband, son, father and brother. He was employed as a truck driver with DLI Logistics of Maryland and formerly worked with Equipment Transport in Belle Vernon. Dale graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1996, was a member of East Coast SXS and enjoyed riding quads and hunting. Dale will be sadly missed by his loving family: his wife of nine years, Kristina L. (Smitley) Bowers; his son, Ashton Bowers; his two daughters, Sierra and Desiree Bowers; his father, Dale A. Bowers and wife, Rebecca; his mother, Karen Keefer Bowers and the late John Fesh; his mother-in-law, June Shearer and husband, Jeffrey; his father-in-law, David Smitley Sr. and wife, Cheryl; his siblings, Chris Bowers and wife, Jody, and Bob Bowers and wife, Brenda; his brothers-in-law, Derek Smitley and fiancee, Kristy and David Smitley and wife, Robin; his niece, Taylor; and his nephews, Jake, Dane and Brant. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Myrtle (Basinger) Bowers; and his maternal grandparents, Alva and Margaret (Guptill) Keefer.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com / GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Jeremy Whipkey officiating.
