Claudia Louise Pritts North, 73 of Hempfield Township, born in Connellsville, PA and residing much of her life in Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Claudia was born July 20, 1952 to Glenn and Joanne Owens Pritts. A graduate of Connellsville High School Class of 1970, she went on to a career spanning 40+ years as a Radiology Technician. Claudia performed mammograms and took particular pride in her work, caring for and educating her patients and advocating for the importance of women’s health. It was in her profession that she met the love of her life, Larry North, who she would later marry. Claudia and Larry shared a spectacular life together. In 1979, Claudia became a mother, bringing her only child, a son, Scott Glenn into the world. The mother/son relationship they shared was one for the ages. Of all the many accomplishments in her life, the one she was most proud of was him. Years later, Scott and his Jessica would give her two wonderful grandchildren, Bastian Glenn and Mackenzie Ann. Claudia spent her retirement living with her family, loving and teaching her grandchildren everything she knew. And she knew everything!!! Bastian and Mackenzie loved their Gigi dearly and will have wonderful memories to look back on as they grow. Every girl has a best friend, and for Claudia, it was her Amanda “Bethy” Crowley. Claud and Bethy shared a lifelong friendship. They enjoyed traveling together and carrying on everywhere they went. Claudia loved spending time in her garden, an inherited quality from her Grandmother Helen, known affectionately to all as Grandma Punkin. She was a master of almost every craft in existence. If anyone had a “how-to” question, we could be sure Claudia would have the answer. She is survived by her beloved son, Scott Glenn Kreinbrook, Daughter-in-law, Jessica Layton, and her adored grandchildren. Her brother, Richard W. Pritts and his wife Karen Pritts, of Normalville. Her sisters, Patricia Maxwell of Little Summit and Christine Pritts Oppy, of Connellsville. Sister-in-law, Carol North Anderson, of Florida and step daughter Madeleine North of Poughkeepsie, NY. Her treasured cousins, Bill, Deborah, and Diane, or The Owens Brats as they are known, as Claud and hers are The Pritts Brats. Her nephews, Harrison Pritts and Jonathan Pritts. Her nieces, Elena Nicholson, Kelly Tuchek, Jennifer Ruggieri and her husband Shawn, Emily DeBolt and her husband Robert, Rachel Hankle, Olivia Nguyen and her husband Nathan, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry North, her loving parents Glenn and Joanne Pritts, her dear brother David Allison Pritts, and her nephew Benjamin David Pritts.
