Charles Edward "Shug" Sager, 81, of Scottdale, went to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh, due to complications from covid-19 pneumonia. He was born Apr. 23, 1940, in Greensburg, the son of the late Carmen and Alda (Johnson) Sager. He drove tractor-trailer trucks for many years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and playing croquet and cards. Charles was also a gifted singer and harmonica player. He is survived by his younger brother, Timothy Sager; his ex-wife of 50 years, Linda (Bussard) Sager; his five daughters, Robin Basinger (fiance John Rose), Patti Jo Pritts (Rick), Beverly Whitlatch (Keith), Terri Lee Tarr (Fred) and Rebecca Kugle (Chris); eight grandchildren, Shane Basinger, Jolene DiLeo, Samantha Jo Skokut, Benjamin Colflesh, Lindsey Pritts, Kaelei and Abby Whitlatch and Faith Tarr; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Carmen "Butch" Sager; and ex-wife, Mary Sager.
