Charles E. Niswonger, 92, of Scottdale, died Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at home. Charles was born May 9, 1927, the son of the late Mildred and Eugene Niswonger. Charles "Chuck" was full of life and laughter and his favorite moments were spent with his loving wife, Alice, and family. He loved sitting on the back porch, telling stories, fishing and playing dart-ball. Chuck also enjoyed spending time at the Brownfield Senior Center with friends. Chuck attended East Huntington High School and then joined the Navy in 1946. Following the war, Chuck was employed for 46 years at Robertshaw, in Youngwood. He was a lifelong, faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Scottdale. Chuck will sadly be missed by his devoted family, his beloved wife of 66 years, Alice (Mates) Niswonger, his three daughters, Janice Allison and husband, Jeff, Jean Ann Niswonger and Judy Snyder; grandchildren, Jason and Maggie Allison and Jamie Snyder; and great-grandchildren, Vivian and Charlie Jean Allison. He was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Jeremy Allison (1987), Brad Snyder (2009) and son-in law, Bob Snyder (2005). Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, ( 724-887-5300 , www.fergusonfunerals.com ., GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Pastors Bob Nagy and Steve Moore co-officiating. Final resting place will be in Pennsville Independent Cemetery. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow full military honors prior to the funeral service.
