Obituary

Charles T. "Chuck" Blaser, 64, of Scottdale, passed away at 3:04 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2021, at his residence. Chuck was born June 12, 1957, in Tarentum, a son of the late James and Geraldine (Shreckengost) Blaser. He married Debra A. (Metsger) Blaser Oct. 4, 2008. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired from Super Valu Foods in November 2020 after his employment of more than 37 years, working in their warehouse. Previously he was a mold maker with Overmyer Mold Company. He graduated from Greensburg Salem High School, Class of 1975, and served as exalted ruler with the Mt. Pleasant Elks Lodge. Chuck was a faithful and active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Scottdale, and previously worshipped at the Madison United Methodist Church for many years. He loved hunting, gardening, canning and taking care of his lawn and yard! He especially loved to teach others how to do those things, and most of all, loved spending time with his family. Chuck will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 12 years, Debra A. (Metsger) Blaser; his children, Lynn "Lynnie" Blaser, of Greensburg, Heather Petros and husband, Daniel, of Greensburg, Mindy Beth Hoffman and husband, Jonathan, of Apollo, Raymond Clawson and wife, Colleen, of Scottdale, Rachel Beltz and husband, Joseph, of Greensburg, and Richard Clawson, of Irwin; his seven grandchildren who referred to him as "Papa Chuck", Kaden and Madisyn Petros, Benjamin, Sarah and Hannah Hoffman, Alexander Clawson and Nicole Beltz; his sisters, Karen Kettering and husband, Mark, of Greensburg, Debra Newell and husband, David, of Mount Pleasant, and "like a sister" Michelle Stevens and husband, Wesley, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300, www.fergusonfunerals.com , GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278.
