Bonnie Lee (Sherbondy) Rock, 82, of Scottdale, passed away at 10:03 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. Bonnie was born April 20, 1935, at Ruffs Dale in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Hildridge and Gladys (Tray) Sherbondy. Bonnie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great- and great-great-grandmother. She graduated from Scottdale High School, class of 1953, and received an associate degree in social work from WCCC. She worked for many years as the associate director of the Greensburg YMCA's Youth Shelter. In later years, she was employed at Adelphi, working with Westmoreland County judges and family court. Bonnie was a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale, and served on the Selective Service Board. She enjoyed camping and reading, and she was dedicated to her family. Bonnie will be sadly missed by her loving family, her four sons, Bruce Rock and his wife, Maria, of Ruffs Dale, Kim Rock and his wife, Ann, of Greensburg, Eric Rock and his wife, Melissa, of Bozeman, Mont., and Brian Rock and his wife, Linda, of Scottdale; her eight grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; her great-great-granddaughter; and her sister, Darlene Sherbondy, of Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving pet Yorkie, Maggie.
