Obituary

BETTY JANE (HOSMER) SEESE, 92 of Ruffsdale, passed away at 1:10 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Betty was born July 2, 1924 in Clay Center, Kansas, a daughter of the late Edwin E. "Pete" and Susannah (Kretz) Hosmer. She was married to Edward Vernon Seese, who passed away on November 17, 2014.

Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Years ago, she worked as a clerk in the telecommunications office at Fort Reilly, KS where she met her husband. Later in life, she was employed for 30 years at the Holiday Inn, New Stanton. She was a longtime and faithful member of Christ Reformed Church in Ruffsdale where she sang in the choir and was active in the ladies bible class. She was a graduate of Clay County High School in Kansas, Class of 1942, was a member of the DAR, Braddock Trail Chapter, and enjoyed crafts, camping, playing cards, bingo, and bowling.

Betty will be sadly missed by her loving family; her three daughters, Carol Sue Proud and her husband Bill "Buzzy", Debbie Ann Aumer and her husband Herb, all of Ruffsdale, and Marie Elaine Gricheck and her husband Jim of Scottdale; her 12 grandchildren; her 16 great grandchildren; her one great-great grand child, and her two sisters, Edwinna Potenski of Clay Center, KS and Marie Anderegg of Edina, MN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant brother Gerald, two daughters, Barbara Jane Faidley (7/5/2010) and Betty Ann Seese (infant-1949).

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com / GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Wednesday in Christ Reformed Church, Ruffsdale followed by funeral services at 11 AM Wednesday with Rev. Dennis Kletzing officiating. Graveside committal service and interment next to her late husband will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at Tarrs. The family wishes to thank the Promise Hospice and the Thorne Group for their loving care.
