Obituary

Barbara A. Kight (Remaley)

The family of Barbara A. Kight (Remaley) of New Stanton, PA is saddened to announce

her peaceful passing on July 30, 2025 at the age of 93. Born on December 6, 1931,

she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Malik) Remaley. She was

preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles L. Kight after 24 years of marriage

(1975) and her son Kevin Scott Kight (2009).

Barbara served her community for many years as an insurance broker for Kight

Insurance Associates, a family-owned business where she built lasting relationships

with clients. Barbara cultivated meaningful friendships and found joy in life's pleasures. She treasured outings with friends, delighted in shows and performances, was an

enthusiastic shopper with an eye for quality - taking pride in finding just the right item for

any occasion - and was the proud owner of a pristine gold 1973 Corvette, which she

drove only on perfect weather days.

The holiday season held special meaning for Barbara. She took immense pride in her

son Doug's spectacular holiday decorations that transformed their home into a beloved

neighborhood destination, drawing visitors from throughout the area. Her delight in the

happiness it brought to others reflected her generous spirit.

Barbara is survived by her son Douglas T. Kight of New Stanton, PA; nieces Leslee

(Jay) Schwirian and Lori (Ray) Wissenger; cousins Linda Butts, Robert Malik, and Dora

Curry (Malik). Her beloved Shih Tzus, Riley and Logan, will miss her gentle presence.

Barbara's warmth, independence, and zest for life touched all who knew her. She will

be remembered for her genuine spirit throughout her remarkable 93 years.
