Obituary

Audrey R. (Myers) Echard, 63, of Connellsville (Bullskin Township), passed away at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her residence. Audrey was born Sept. 2, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Merle E. and Rufinah (Smith) Myers, who passed away April 4, 2010, and Nov. 18, 2013, respectively. She married Harry C. Echard on Feb. 14, 1983. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was employed for 33 years as a ward clerk at Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Audrey graduated from Southmoreland High School, class of 1972, and was a faithful member of Greenwood Heights Church of God. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Audrey will be sadly missed by the loves of her life: her husband of 35 years, Harry C. Echard; her daughter, Cherie Fort, of Connellsville; her grandsons who brought her great joy and pleasure, Ryan and Joshua Fort; her sister, Elaine Heckman and husband Larry, of Greensburg; her brother-in-law, Bob Echard, and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Echard and Linda Hughes and husband Jonah, all of Connellsville, and her sister-in-law, Annette Myers, of North Carolina; and her two nieces and nephew, Sarah Echard, Miranda Frady and husband Jimmy and Chad Echard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Harold L. and Helen J. (Stillwagon) Echard; and her brother, Ronald K. Myers (2003).
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com / GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Heights Church of God, Connellsville, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Norman Walk officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
