ARTHUR J. McBRIDE, 73 of Mount Pleasant, (formerly of Whitehall), passed away at 6:05 AM Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his residence. Art was born December 7, 1947 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Arthur F. and Amelia (Billabaugh) McBride. He married Betty Jane (Smith) McBride on May 28, 1988.

Art was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He graduated from Saint Mary's High School and received his Batchelor Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Art was employed for 35 years as a technician with Duquesne Light in Pittsburgh. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a Specialist Technician during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service and Vietnam Service Medals. He enjoyed yard work and fast cars!

Art will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 32 years, Betty Jane (Smith) McBride; his two sons, Bill Hecker and wife Kathy of Mount Pleasant and Tom Hecker and wife Laura of McVeytown; his eight grandchildren; and his two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paige; and his sister, Darlene "Sis" Keener.

Family and friends will be received from 2-6 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel where Full Military Honors will be bestowed at 6 PM Saturday by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard.
