Arbutus Joan Porterfield, 93
of WOODCREST Senior Living, Scottdale passed away at 4:33 am Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant. Joan was born December 2, 1930 in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Clark) Schmuck. She was married to Paul Ralph Porterfield, who passed away on June 10, 2022.

Joan was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1948 and was employed for 27 years at the former Williamhouse Corporation. She was also a longtime member of the former First Baptist Church in Scottdale.

Joan is survived by her loving family; her son, Tom Porterfield and wife Carol (Rozycki) of Scottdale and her two granddaughters, Carrie Porterfield Dumm and husband Jeff and Jennifer Porterfield  all of Scottdale. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several siblings. The family wants to Thank the staff at Woodcrest, Harmon House and Suncrest Hospice

Personalized arrangements were under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105  SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). At the request of the decedent, there was no public viewing. A graveside committal service and inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Green Ridge Memorial Park, next to her late husband. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
