Anna M. Janicki, 93, of Scottdale, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, in Easy Living Estates, New Stanton. Anna was born June 10, 1923, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Padolik) Janicki, who passed away Aug. 9, 1945, and March 12, 1987, respectively. Anna was a devoted sister and aunt. She worked as an assembler at Robertshaw Controls for more than 40 years and was a lifelong and faithful member of St. John Byzantine Church in Scottdale. Anna was a graduate of Scottdale High School and enjoyed gardening, baking, desserts with coffee and she had a smile for everyone! Anna will be sadly missed by her loving family: her brother, Theodore A. Janicki and his wife, Romaine, and their daughter, Mary Catherine; her cousins, Donald Lucas, of Scottdale, and Maryann Szczygiel, of Everson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Cresanta; and her three brothers, John, Michael and Mickey Janicki. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, followed by parting prayers at 9 a.m. Friday. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. John Byzantine Church, with the Rev. Father John Salko as celebrant. Graveside committal service and interment will be in the church cemetery.
