Anna R. (Barkley) Heck, 91, of Scottdale, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, in Amber House, Mt. Pleasant.
Anna was born March 26, 1927, in Mill Run, a daughter of the late Earl and Louella (Sumner) Barkley.
She was married to Hayes D. "Bud" Heck, who passed away on Sept. 23, 2011.
Anna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Years ago, she resided in Pennsville and was a member of the former EUB Church in Pennsville. She enjoyed her family, planting and caring for flowers, and feeding the birds, especially the sparrows, who waited patiently on her porch.
Anna will be sadly missed by her loving family: her two daughters, Brenda Townsend and Charlotte Sethman, both of Scottdale; her four grandchildren, Carla Ware and boyfriend Rick Anderson, Michael Townsend and wife Dawn, Angela Sethman, and Jennifer Sethman and boyfriend Howard Hendler; her seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Berletich, Melissa Hertzog, Todd Ware, Jacob and Stephen Ozoroski, Aaron Townsend, and Nicholas Craig; her four great-great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Shawn, Raegan and Adalynn; her sister, Lois Nicklow of Pontiac, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, William Joseph Heck (2014) and Dennis Carl Heck (1951); her grandson-in-law, Gilbert Todd Ware; her four sisters, Relda Pritts, Mary Dahl, Margaret Whipkey and Ruby McKlveen; her five brothers, Robert, Clyde, Merle, George Paul, and William Barkley and two sons-in-law, Veryl Townsend and Marion "Sonny" Sethman.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring Street, Scottdale, 724-887-5300, www.fergusonfunerals.com . Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with pastors Bob Nagy and Keith Solomon co-officiating.
Chapel committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township.
