Albert R. Miller, 83, of Alverton, passed away Friday morning, June 22, 2018, in Fort Worth, Texas. Albert was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late William and Clara (McCracken) Miller. He married Ruth Ann (Fox) Miller on April 6, 1957. Albert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a retired machine operator, working at Permali Corp. in Mt. Pleasant for over 25 years. Albert faithfully worshipped at Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton, where he was a longtime member and a former trustee. A veteran of the Army, he served as a Specialist Fourth Class following the Korean War. Albert was a loyal member of the Marion Masonic Lodge No. 562 F and AM and a Past Worshipful Master. A graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1954, he enjoyed gardening and sports, especially football and hockey. Albert will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann (Fox) Miller; his daughter, Susan Murdock and husband, David, of Arlington, Texas; his granddaughter, Brandy Wisniewski and her husband, Travis, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Grant D. Miller (3/2/13); and five brothers, Harry, Homer, William, Raymond, and Robert Miller.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with his pastor, the Rev. Lee Kline, officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Alverton Cemetery. The Marion Masonic Lodge No. 562 will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
